If you talk to any of Alex Say’s clients, they all agree that Alex is a true professional. He’s known for taking a personal approach that allows relationships with his clients to blossom into something bigger than wealth management. That personal approach is grounded in a strong belief that people should always be themselves, especially in a business dealing with handling family assets and planning for the client’s goals and aspirations, for not only their lifetimes, but those of their children and grandchildren as well.

Born in England, he moved with his family to South Africa when he was just three years old. He spent most of his childhood in South Africa until 1986, when a high school-aged Alex and his family moved to North Carolina before settling in Kentucky in 1987. After attending Oldham County High School and graduating from the first graduating class of South Oldham County High School, Alex pursued his undergraduate degree at the University of Evansville before returning to Kentucky to pursue his Juris Doctor from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville.

Alex began his career in private practice as a trust and estate lawyer, while also handling general corporate law matters. His legal background aids him in his current position with Stock Yards Bank, where he serves as Trust Counsel/Wealth Planning Specialist.  He understands that a client’s needs will evolve over time and provides the focus and attention to support that evolution.

When he’s not in the office, Alex enjoys spending time with his friends and family in the great outdoors. He is an avid hunter, especially of waterfowl and upland birds, regularly seeking adventure in different states around the country.  During the warm summer months, he spends time boating with his family on Lake Cumberland, and the rest of the year spends many weekends traveling to collegiate tournaments with his oldest daughter, who is on the University of Kentucky Clay Target Team.

Alex cherishes the fact that his role with Stock Yards Bank presents new ways he can help his clients each day. Even if the problems his clients are facing are challenging, they can count on Alex to provide honest, trusted counsel – as a wealth advisor, and as a friend.
