Stop Payment Terms and Conditions
By requesting a stop payment through the online banking system you are agreeing to abide by the following:
Placing a stop payment through the online banking portal allows stop payments to be placed on physical checks. An ACH or automated clearing house/preauthorized electronic transaction must be completed by contacting the bank at a branch or calling into the Customer Care Department.
All information entered into the system should be accurate. If you (the customer) give inaccurate information, the financial institution cannot be held responsible for failing to stop payment on the physical check information provided.
- Agreement: You as the customer understand that the financial institution will not be responsible for stopping the payment information entered within the form if the information is not received in a reasonable time to act on the order of the stop payment. You understand that your stop payment is conditional and subject to verification that the stop payment has not been paid, and the stop payment has been placed.
- Duration: The stop payment order if against a check is effective only against the check that is described above and will be effective for six (6) months from the date of receipt of my original request and will expire automatically at that time unless I specifically renew it. The stop payment order if against an ACH on a customer account will remain in effect until the item is returned (one-time payments) or indefinitely (recurring payments) unless notified by me to release it. If my account is closed, this stop payment request will automatically be cancelled and any item received will be returned with the notation that the account is closed. ACH Payment (Corporate Account) – the stop payment order shall remain in effect until the earlier of: 1) Written notice being received from the account holder to revoke the stop payment order; 2) Six months from the date of the stop payment order, unless it is renewed in writing.
- Fees: You as the customer agree to pay a service charge for the stop payment order in the amount stated on the page form (this is listed under common features fees as well). The payment for this will be charged to the customer’s account that the stop payment is being placed on.
- Indemnification: The customer agrees to indemnify and hold the Financial Institution harmless against all costs, including attorney’s fees, actions, damages, or claims related to or arising from your action in refusing payment of the check as a result of incorrect information provided by the customer.
- Cancellation of Stop Payment: If you decide to cancel/release the stop payment request, you will need to notify the Financial Institution at 502-582-2571 or 1-800-625-9066.
