Habitat for Humanity Partnership

Louisville area financial institutions and like-minded partners came together to sponsor the Habitat Bankers House/Bankers Build. The project provides low-income families with access to affordable homeownership, while increasing individual commitment to their neighborhood. The Habitat program strives to unite people through their volunteer experience – empowering them to change lives and improve our community. In addition to the financial contribution, Stock Yards Bank empowered volunteers with paid time off to participate in the Bankers’ Build.

What our employees have to say

“Getting the opportunity to work alongside my coworkers and other members of the community in the Habitat for Humanity Bankers Build, and to make a difference in the life of another person, was a very rewarding, enjoyable experience. I love being a part of an organization that cares, and I look forward to future opportunities to continue to make a positive impact on our community.”

John Bolin | Organizational Development Manager at Stock Yards Bank

“To know that I work for a company that is giving back to the community in such a tangible program like Habitat for Humanity both encourages and excites me for the future. I cannot wait to sign up for the next event to give back.”

Marlena Townsend | Sales Compensation Analyst at Stock Yards Bank

“As a local community bank, we often talk about the importance of giving back and having a positive impact on the neighborhoods in which we live and work. Being a part of this project exemplifies this commitment, as it has a direct impact on affordable housing and home ownership in our hometown.”

Build A House Campaign

Stock Yards Bank was proud to participate in Working In Neighborhoods’ (WIN) Build A House campaign at the annual WIN Hall of Fame Celebration. The initiative’s mission is to increase homeownership opportunities in the community by equipping participants with the much-needed tools and skills to purchase their first home, lower their utility bills, build generational wealth and create stronger, vibrant communities. Last year, over $200,000 was raised to help families build a brighter financial future.

Creating Opportunities for ALL Small Businesses

Every day, Stock Yards Bank strives to be a good neighbor to the clients, customers and communities we serve. In that spirit, Stock Yards joined forces with Turn Key Title – the only woman and minority title company in the Commonwealth of Kentucky – to host a seminar focused on improving outreach to minority realtors who serve low-to-moderate income earners in Majority Minority census designated tracks in Greater Louisville. Moreover, Stock Yards partnered with The African American Chamber of Commerce in Cincinnati to launch a similar series highlighting first-time homebuyer and small business loan resources.
