David Rea
David brings more than 32 years of financial services expertise to Stock Yards Bank Wealth Management & Trust. His career in banking began as a commercial credit analyst, eventually leading him to a nearly three-decade tenure at Field & Main Bank. Joining Field & Main in 1997, David served as Senior Investment Officer and Senior Vice President, where he dedicated himself to the art of portfolio management and helping clients build long-term wealth.
Following the acquisition of Field & Main by Stock Yards Bank, David is eager to leverage the resources of a larger organization to better serve his clients. He is particularly motivated by the opportunity to collaborate with a deep bench of experts to find innovative solutions for the families and individuals he represents.
David is a graduate of Indiana State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance. To further his commitment to acting in his clients' best interests, he holds the Accredited Fiduciary Investment Manager (AFIM) designation. This certification underscores his dedication to maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct and investment oversight.
David believes that financial success is rarely the result of a single event, but rather the product of a disciplined approach. His core advice to clients is centered on three pillars: consistency, patience, and staying strictly aligned with a well-vetted financial plan. He takes immense pride in building lasting relationships and seeing his clients reach their most important life goals.
A firm believer in giving back, David is heavily involved in the local community. He serves on the finance committee and is an Emeritus Board member for the Salvation Army and is an active member of the Tri-State Hot Stove League, which provides scholarships to local student-athletes. He and his family are also very active in their church community.
David has been married to his wife, Melissa, since 1993. Together they have three children—Jessica, Jacob, and Erica—and two granddaughters, Lydia and Claire. Their home is kept lively by two dogs, Nala and Gus, and a fish named Tonya.
When he isn’t managing portfolios, David is likely cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, the Cincinnati Reds, or the Philadelphia 76ers. He is an avid collector of baseball cards, a movie enthusiast, and a music lover who enjoys playing the guitar. He also shares a passion for travel with his family.
