Today marks a significant milestone for Stock Yards Bank & Trust—120 years of serving our communities. Founded in 1904 in the heart of Louisville’s Butchertown neighborhood, we began by supporting the city’s thriving livestock industry. Now, with branches across Louisville, Central & Eastern Kentucky, Indianapolis, and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky, we’ve grown far beyond our humble beginnings.

Stock Yards Bank & Trust’s history of success as a community bank is rooted in one unwavering, unified mission: providing exceptional service. Throughout these years, Stock Yards has earned the reputation of providing the highest level of personal service, financial strength, and a commitment to the highest ethical standards.

We are proud of the reputation we have maintained over the last 120 years. We have built relationships within our communities: with friends, families, and neighbors - one customer at a time. We continue to take the extra steps necessary to truly understand our customers’ unique, complex financial needs to help them achieve financial success.

From our roots in the livestock industry, we’ve continuously expanded our product offerings. We offer everything from personal banking for you and your family to business banking, trust and wealth management, private banking, and mortgage loan services. No matter how much we grow, our foundation remains rooted in a community-first approach. It’s not just about banking; it’s about being good corporate citizens and giving back in meaningful ways.

Combining philanthropic investments and volunteerism, Stock Yards Bank & Trust has worked with numerous organizations including the Martindale Brightwood Community Development Corporation in Indianapolis, the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon charity raffle benefitting more than 100 nonprofit organizations, St. Claire’s Regional Medical Center Foundation in Central Kentucky, and Simmons College of Kentucky in Louisville. These organizations, in addition to the hundreds of others we support, are working to build and uplift the communities we serve. We’ve always believed that as a community bank, it’s our responsibility to give back in a way that increases opportunity and encourages growth in these regions.

Our 120 years of success would not be possible without our incredible employees  – both past and present. The team here embodies the spirit of Stock Yards Bank & Trust—they aren’t just here to do a job; they are here to build lasting relationships with our customers and make a difference in our communities. We couldn’t ask for a better group to represent the bank, and we were honored to host our recent employee picnic in August to celebrate the anniversary.

Finally, we’d like to extend our deepest gratitude to our customers. Your trust and loyalty are the reasons we’ve been able to serve for over a century. We look forward to the next 120 years of service, growth, and commitment to excellence you have come to expect from Stock Yards Bank & Trust.

With Gratitude,
