Meet Jeff Jackson, Regional Manager

Following our recent acquisition of Field & Main Bank, Stock Yards Bank & Trust is incredibly proud to officially welcome Jeff Jackson to our Wealth Management & Trust team as Regional Manager for the Western Kentucky and Evansville Region. Bringing over four decades of financial expertise, executive leadership, and deep community roots, Jeff embodies the relationship-first philosophy that defines our institution.

If you ask his clients or colleagues to describe him in three words, the answer is unanimous: loyal, dependable, and compassionate.

Jeff’s entry into the financial world wasn't entirely mapped out from the start. Originally, he planned to join his family’s printing business. However, looking ahead at an evolving industry, his parents wisely encouraged him to explore other avenues. Around that same time, his future father-in-law —a longtime banker—suggested he give the banking industry a try. That early piece of advice reshaped Jeff’s professional destiny and sparked a remarkably diverse and accomplished career.

Jeff’s career began at the ground level, working in the Proof Transit Department while finishing college. As a dedicated lifelong learner, he earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Indiana. He rose steadily through a management trainee program, became the youngest branch manager in his institution’s history, moved into commercial lending, and eventually led an entire commercial lending team as a Chief Commercial Banking Officer.

Ultimately, his passion for deep relationship-building and complex problem-solving drew him into Wealth Management & Trust, where he previously served as President of the Wealth Management Division for Field & Main Bank since 2018. Along the way, Jeff earned the prestigious Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation after completing Cannon’s Trust Schools I, II, and III, and pursued advanced training through Kaplan’s College for Financial Planning and the ABA Advanced Commercial Lending School.

When asked about the most rewarding moments of his career, Jeff doesn't point to market highs or numbers on a spreadsheet. Instead, he speaks about the moments where he could step in to solve a problem and ease a client's burden.

Years ago, Jeff was asked to work on a relationship with an elderly couple. During their initial visit, the couple shared a vulnerable truth: the husband had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. He had always handled the household finances, and the couple was now facing a growing, overwhelming stack of unopened mail and financial documents.

Recognizing their distress, Jeff didn't just schedule a follow-up appointment. He said, "I’ll be right back," and went to the local office supply store where he bought binders, folders, and organizational supplies. He spent the next several hours opening their mail, organizing their paperwork into clear systems, and gently explaining every single detail to the wife until she felt secure and confident.

Sometime later, Jeff was invited to dinner at the couple's home. Their adult children had traveled from out of town specifically to "interview" this new banker, wanting to ensure their parents were protected. Jeff welcomed their protective instincts, listened to their concerns, and laid out the financial plan with total transparency. By the end of the evening, the relieved children stopped interviewing Jeff and formally declared him an honorary member of the family.

"Listening to a client’s need and finding a solution—and earning that level of trust—is exactly what keeps me energized and passionate about coming to work every single day," Jeff says.

This human-centric approach is precisely why Jeff is so passionate about debunking a common industry misconception: the idea that a financial plan is a static, one-time document.

"A financial plan is not financial planning," Jeff explains. "Almost any organization can use software to generate a standard financial plan. But we know that life doesn't stay static. One accident, one illness, one birth, one marriage, or one diagnosis can change an entire financial trajectory overnight."

For Jeff and the team at Stock Yards Bank, true financial planning is an active, ongoing conversation. It means creating a comprehensive foundation, helping families implement it, and checking in regularly to adjust the sails as families grow, shift, and transition through life.
As Field & Main integrates with Stock Yards Bank, Jeff is incredibly eager to leverage this expanded partnership for the benefit of our clients in the Western Kentucky and Evansville markets.

"The camaraderie and client-focused culture within the Stock Yards Bank Wealth Management & Trust team is exceptional," Jeff notes. "I'm looking forward to collaborating with this larger pool of talented professionals to provide our regional clients with a broader, deeper suite of products and services, all while maintaining the boutique, trusted relationships they have always counted on."

Jeff’s reputation as a leader is also deeply rooted in mentorship. Though he jokingly asks, "When did I become the old guy that people look up to?" he takes immense pride in helping the next generation of advisors discover the fulfillment of client advocacy.

Jeff's commitment to serving others extends far beyond the bank's walls. He serves as the Board President for the Audubon Kids Zone, an advisor to the Community Foundation of Henderson, and a dedicated church treasurer. He also regularly volunteers his time serving meals to those in need at the United Caring Shelter.
When he is not in the office or volunteering, you can usually find Jeff on the golf course, camping in the great outdoors, or enjoying time with his family. Jeff, and his wife of 38 years, Julie, have two grown, married daughters and are proud grandparents to an active seven and eight-year-old. The family is also preparing for a double blessing this August, with twin grandsons expected to arrive.

Proving that a great banker never truly stops building relationships, Jeff and Julie recently returned from a summer trip to Scotland to visit close friends—former neighbors who originally hailed from England. Over the course of the vacation, Jeff caught them up on the news of the Stock Yards Bank acquisition. Impressed by the strength of the combined institution and their absolute trust in Jeff, the friends shared that they are planning a move back to the United States—and they want Jeff to oversee all of their financial planning and wealth management needs when they return.

Whether across the table in Henderson or across the ocean in Scotland, Jeff Jackson’s career proves that when you treat clients like family, preparation creates peace of mind for a lifetime. Please join us in welcoming Jeff  and the rest of the Field & Main crew to the Stock Yards Bank team!
